Barah -Wafat-Celebrated 2017
Barah- wafat also , known as Milad-Ul -Nabi . is an important festival for Muslim Community. Barah -Wafat is a mark to
Birthday of the great Prophet Mohammad. Coincidentally, the birth and death anniversary of the Prophet fall on the same day.
Hence, no grand celebrations take place on this day. the word ‘barah’ that is related to the twelve days, during which the Prophet
lay sick. To mark this event, various Islamic sermons are preached in mosques, these highlight the numerous virtues of Prophet
Muhammad.
HOW TO CELEBRATED:
The Muslim Holy book, “QURAAN” is read for 12 days of the month of Rabi-Ul-Awwal according to the
Muslim calendar. In The People have scaramentle meals rice porridge cooked in the milk.
Namaz is offered throughout the night and people are greeted with different kinds of sweetmeats.
RITUALS OF BARAH WAFAT :
In 622 A.D. Mohammed along with his followers went to Medina. This flight from Mecca to Medina is known as Hijrah and marks
the beginning of the Islamic era. By 630 AD, Islam came to be accepted as a religion and Muhammad as ruler by a large number of
people. However, in 632 A.D. Muhammad led the pilgrimage to Mecca, preached his farewell sermon and died soon after.
